Journaling :

Journaling :

Most people would think that journaling entails a whole “Dear Diary” type of vibe, but in reality journaling does more than just help you record your memories or find self-expression, it’s good for your health too! Plus, journaling is no longer old-fashioned, or just for folks of a certain older-and-wiser age. It’s something that you need to do NOW! I always thought that I had started my journaling-journey about 3 to 4 years ago. But I recently discovered (while doing some spring/quarantine cleaning) that I’ve been journaling ever since I was a kid. Most of my journals from when I was younger, did begin with that famous “Dear Diary” line, but I guess once I started maturing I really found my true purpose when it came to my journals. I’ve found that journaling has many purposes and in my opinion it’s a great way of keeping all of thoughts, memories, and even life goals organized in one place + it also gives me another reason to swing by every 2-3 months to HomeGoods, so I can buy myself a new journal! I usually go through an entire journal within 2-3 months, because I write so much in them!

I’ve created a routine of writing down every morning what I’m thankful for and my daily/weekly goals. By doing so, I’ve found that this simple morning routine keeps me motivated and centered throughout the week. Which is why I am firm believer that journaling has some great virtues! Here are 4 good-for-you virtues of journaling :

Reduces Stress :

An overabundance of stress can be damaging to your physical, mental and emotional health. I strongly believe that journaling is an incredible stress management tool, because you can always jot down your feelings, rather than bottling them all up. We sometimes feel like the best way of managing certain situations, is by keeping them to ourselves. Which is okay, if you know how to manage yourself under a lot of stress, but I’m not that type of person. I personally love talking and expressing myself with those closest to me, and I even express myself in my journals, because I feel like I’m letting go of anything that might be stressing me out at the moment.

Keeps Your Memory Sharp :

Journaling helps you keep your brain on tip-top shape. Not only does it boost memory and comprehension, it also increases working memory capacity, which may reflect improved cognitive processing. Alex always asks me, “how is it that I remember so many things from the past”, and the answer too that is simple, I WRITE IT ALL DOWN! 😂

Holds You Accountable :

Many people like to record facts and figures in their journal, especially ones which relate to an important life change. Whatever the nature of your change, your journal can help you to achieve it. Seeing your progress in black and white helps you carry on when your motivation is at rock-bottom! Like I said before, I personally love writing down all of my daily/weekly goals in my journals, and being able to see how I accomplish each and everyone of them keeps me even more motivated!

Encouraged Positive Thinking :

When you write in your journal, don’t dwell on the things that went wrong. Focus on the positive aspects of your day or week – even when you have to dig hard to find something (trust me, you’ll find something). We tend to focus a lot on the bad things that happen to us, and forget about all the good that has happened, and it’s important to keep in mind that dwelling on the bad won’t help you progress in life. Shifting your focus will help you see a faster change in your attitude and life. One way that I like to exercise this specifically, is by listing the things which were not just good but BETTER! It helps me shift my focus and realize how blessed I truly am.

Ready To Start Journaling?

YOU GET IT : Journaling is good for you – physically, mentally and emotionally. But what if, like myself, you ever find yourself stuck, staring frustrated at a blank page, because you don’t know what to write about. Well firstly, ditch the guilt of not being consistent or instantly motivated. It needs to come out naturally and you can simply start where you are. If you need to initially just write a single line, or detail the specifics of what you had for breakfast, do it. Don’t preoccupy yourself with managing perfect punctuation, grammar, spelling or your best handwriting…..because chances are you’re the only one reading your journal! Just write and don’t censor yourself, this is for YOU! Remember : You don’t have to be Shakespeare.

So go ahead, grab one of those marble journals at HomeGoods and set aside a dedicated space and time for journaling, you can thank me later!💛

Game Night – Date Night :

Game Night – Date Night :

Since this whole quarantine thing started, I’ve found myself getting a little more creative when it comes to planning our Date Nights! I absolutely love planning date nights that involve PJ’s & some good wine, I mean, you don’t have to necessarily go-out all the time + it’s super pocket friendly! But one thing I did realize was that, we had never done a game-night date night! Of course, we hadn’t done it yet, because we actually didn’t have any board games at home. When we first moved in, we didn’t think of purchasing board games and I honestly feel like board-games is a total must-have! Thankfully Target came to the rescue and they had an amazing BOGO deal, in which you buy 2-games and get 1-FREE. We couldn’t miss out in the opportunity so we went ahead and purchased a few games that we knew we definitely needed.

We absolutely LOVE game nights, it’s one of our top favorite ways to pass some time and the great part of game-night date night, is that you probably don’t have to waste a single cent. Unless you’re like us and didn’t have a single game at home. But if you were smart enough to buy them ahead of time, all you gotta do is open a nice bottle of wine, set out a cheese board and challenge each other to a bet. Plus, if you ever want to host a double date once this whole quarantine is over, a game night is a fantastic at home date night idea for a group date or a double date! I personally love being competitive and seeing Alex’s competitive side!

Here Are Some Great Games For Couples :

Don’t Forget About :

Once you’ve got everything set out, you can’t forget about some yummy snacks and a great playlist to have playing in the background. This will just set the whole mood up for the evening. I’ve usually prepared cheese boards whenever Alex & I have a little date night at home, but I was thinking, that maybe this weekend I can try making something a little different, like some yummy “Truffled Popcorn”. We shall see 💁🏼‍♀️, but for now I hope you guys enjoy this little idea with your lovers this weekend!

My Famous Oven-Baked Potato Thins :

My Famous Oven-Baked Potato Thins :

If you guys follow me on the Gram, then Ya’ll know that I absolutely love making my famous oven-baked potato thins as a dinner side at least once a week! It’s a great healthy and easy-to-make dinner-side option, because all you need, are either golden or red potatoes and some yummy seasoning! I’m 100% sure that every ingredients that I am about to list down below, Ya’ll have it in your kitchen pantry 😋!

Ingredients :

  • 3 pounds of Golden or Red Potatoes, & sometimes you can mix both which is what I normally do (sliced)
  • 2 Tbs Olivie Oil
  • 5 cloves of Garlic (minced)
  • 1 Tsp of Dried Thyme
  • 1/2 Tsp of Dried Oregano
  • 1/2 Tsp of Dried Basil
  • 1 Tsp of Chili Powder
  • 1 Tsp of Paprika
  • 2 Tbs Unsalted Butter
  • Salt & Pepper to taste
  • Shredded Cheese to taste

How it’s Made :

  1. Start by preheating oven to 400 degrees F and lightly oil a baking sheet or coat it with a nonstick olive oil buttery spray.
  2. On a separate bowl mix all the seasonings listed above together, so you can spread the seasoning in an evenly manner onto the potatoes.
  3. Place potatoes in a single layer onto the prepared baking sheet and add olive oil + the seasoning mix. Try to cover each potato thin as much as possible with the seasoning mix.
  4. Once you’ve got the potatoes covered in seasoning add on top as much shredded cheese as you’d like. I personally cover it entirely with shredded cheese, because once they’re completely baked, the cheese tends to get crispy and it’s so delish!
  5. Place potatoes into oven and bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and crisp. Once they’re removed from the oven stir in butter until melted.
  6. Serve immediately, and if you’d like, you can also garnish it with some parsley if desired!

Boss Babe Mindset :

Boss Babe Mindset :

Gather around ladies, I wanted to share something with ya’ll for a while a now! As many of you know, ever since I was little I’ve worked in the jewelry industry with my family; I basically EAT, BREATH, and only SEE Jewelry! Jewelry is a part of me and so is the industry! Learning from a young age what it took to run a business, I felt a certain attraction in becoming someone out of my families industry. I always had this plan of graduating high-school and going off to college, which I did & I even graduated with my Bachelors Degree from FIU. Most would’ve thought that I was going to continue going to school and even graduating with a Masters, but I knew deep down inside, that I was born to do something completely different! I wanted to become a #BossBabe ! I wanted to look at myself and say, I DID THAT 🙋🏼‍♀️!

Most people think that becoming a Boss Babe means that, you are the only boss in whatever profession you are in. But I don’t necessarily believe that, I personally believe that a Boss Babe, is an individual that is striving for progression and productivity in their finances, fitness/health and mental prosperity. In order for you to progress in all of these categories you’ll have to be open to listen to others that are there to help you become a better version of yourself. And if you’re working endlessly towards bettering yourself in these 3-categories, then you are a total Boss Babe! I personally feel like anyone who has the right drive/mindset, the hustle, and a great support system can become a Boss Babe!

Drive / Mindset :

The drive and mindset that one has towards something they’d like to accomplish in life is extremely important, but it can also be blurred with our own inside thoughts! When I first started realizing that I wanted to become someone in my families jewelry industry (and not just their employee/daughter) I started thinking to myself negative thoughts. And I think it’s completely normal for most people to do so, because we’re fearful of failure. But I also realized that in order to start this journey, I needed to shake off all the negative thoughts. My two biggest hurdles to overcome were; “What if this doesn’t work”, or “What if I’m not good enough”. Which honestly it was pretty dumb of me to think, because I’m GREAT at what I do! And what I bring to the table, is something that I can only do. I had to shift my mindset into a place where I was happy with who I was and what I brought to this business. And I’m not saying that I’m completely perfect, because no one is, but at least I’m open to learning every single day & progressing. That drive & mindset need to be there from the get-go and you can never loose sight in them, even if you feel like you’ve succeeded! Because at the end of the day, progress is the only thing that will keep you bettering yourself into becoming the Boss Babe that you were always meant to be!

Hustle :

“Na-na-na, Diva is a female version of a hustle, of a, of a hustle, of a, of a hustla!”

-Beyonce : Diva

Having the ability to hustle for money in an ethical way is extremely important and so is being smart with your money. Taking the current global situation (COVID-19) our business was mandated by the County that we had to close, because it’s considered a non-essential business. But our clients are proving us otherwise, and I being the hustler that I am, I’ve been trying to provide our clients with as much help as possible, within my limitations. This comes to show that if you’re willing to do what it takes to hustle for your money, then you are that much closer in becoming a Boss Babe! I’ve realized that with this global pandemic, I can’t just sit around and expect for money to grow from thin air. So here I am making the best from a very not-so-great situation; and proving myself that I am capable of continuing on my Boss Babe journey, no matter what this world throws at me!

Support System :

Those who are around you and supporting you every step of the way can truly make a difference in your journey. I personally have always had a great support system, my parents have always been open to hearing my ideas and providing feedback when it’s needed and so has my husband. I think it’s important to have a circle that you can feel safe to help you along the way, you can’t expect to do everything on your own. Because again, the progress is much more important than proving to others that you can do it by yourself. I also feel like the term “collaboration” should be included in this section, because when you’re able to collaborate with others, you are allowing yourself to gain more visibility while also providing a platform for someone else within your audience. Don’t be afraid to collaborate with others, because you never know how it might turn out. Creating a habit of working with one another, will uplift and elevate each individual, we are not here to tear others down, we are here to work together to produce a beautiful and meaningful connection with one another, thus creating a much bigger and a much more reliable support system!

– Just Be Yourself!

Being yourself and not loosing who you are is the most important one of all! Always hold yourself to standards when it comes to your personal and professional life! Boss Babes are those who live their truth and don’t let others compromise their values and beliefs! Cheers to working together to continue being the best versions of ourselves & badass Boss Babes!💛

Netflix and Chill Quarantine Style :

Netflix and Chill Quarantine Style :

It’s been 6 whole days for me, 6 WHOLE DAYS of #socialdistancing ! I’ve been working on my blog every chance that I get, but I can’t lie, I’ve also been doing a lot of binge watching….something I’m very proud of 💁🏼‍♀️lol! Since I have basically become a pro at binge watching; and everyone (including my parents) are asking me what’s a must-watch on Netflix, I thought to myself, let me just make ya’ll a list! So build that fort, open a bottle of wine & make some buttery popcorn, because you just might spend the rest of your quarantine “Netflix & Chillin Quarantine Style”!

The Pharmacist :

This series in particular wasn’t something that I originally wanted to watch, but of course Alex (being in the industry) begged me if we could watch it together! It starts off as a murder mystery documentary, about the shooting of a young man attempting to buy crack cocaine, but later turns out to wrap the viewer into the real mystery around the murder of this young man, a young man who’s father was a pharmacist in New Orleans that managed to blow the opioid crisis, crippling his community wide open. Needless to say it was very eyeopening to the drug issues that we have within our own country right now.

Cheer :

Honestly, the main reason why I wanted to watch this series, was because I always wanted to be a cheerleader when I was younger, but obviously that never happened. And after watching Cheer, my respect for these athletes has grown even more, it follows the insanity behind competitive cheerleading, and it reveals just how grueling and extreme the sport of cheerleading can be.

Locke & Key :

I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS SHOW! I started watching it because it was recommended to me by a friend and I instantly got hooked. It’s an adaption of Joe Hill’s “Locke & Key” comic books and follows the story of a family that moves into their late father family home, which has hidden magical keys all around the premises. Since it can be a little tough to keep track of all the keys, where you first saw them, and what they do over the course of the first season’s ten episodes, it allows us to guide the way with a chronological look at the dozen keys we’ve seen so far. Hopefully, the second season can air soon, because I wanna know more about these magical keys!

When They See Us :

This is a four-part miniseries that reenacts the excruciating case of the Central Park Five, a group of black and latino teens from Harlem, who were wrongly convicted of the rape and attempted murder of a white woman in 1989. It’s main story is of the racial profiling, injustice and media misinformation that led to a 25-year timespan, from arrest to vindication. I promise you that you’ll be hooked on the first episode feeling mad, disappointed and sad all at once.

Love is Blind :

If you’re into the Bachelor or Bachelorette, than the chances of you actually liking this series are pretty high. The producers basically take some single girls and single boys, stick them in these “pods” and expect them to fall in love within a matter of days without ever seeing one another, until they commit to an engagement. Pure chaos! I KNOW! These hopeful romantics are ready to couple up without ever seeing each other, and even though several of them say ‘I love you’ after three days, unsurprisingly many of the relationships don’t last long in the outside world! But I won’t ruin the ending for ya’ll, you’ll just have to watch it for yourselves!

Ozark :

Starring both Jason Bateman and Laura Linnery, it follow the story of a Chicago financial advisor who has to move his family to the Ozarks of Missouri, where he later starts to work for a drug boss. Each episode will leave you wanting more, which is why Alex & I are counting down the days until Season 3!

Stranger Things :

Set in the 1980s, “Stranger Things” is a sci-fi series that begins with the sudden and mysterious disappearance of Will Byers, with the help of a new friend with supernatural powers, a group of kids tried to track down Will and soon discover that their hometown Hawkins, is not as simple nor as boring as it seems!

The Irishman :

“The Irishman” is an American crime epic, that tells the story of Frank Sheeran, a truck driver who gets involved with a powerful criminal family and soon becomes one of the mobs top hitmen, the film itself spans many decades as an older Frank recalls his mob-related experiences. Filled with drama, suspense and numerous emotions; you see how everything at the end piles up, leaving Frank with no one to turn to during his last living days. It’s a 3-hour long movie, so I would definitely recommend to watch it earlier in the day!

Money Heist :

Money Heist is a Spanish drama also known by the name “La Casa de Papel” , where a group of outlaws plan to pull off the biggest heist in recorded history. By printing billions of euros in the Royal Mint of Spain. It’s a twist of emotions throughout the whole 3-seasons, but definitely worth the watch! (My parents are currently binging it & they’re OBSESSED!)

Elite :

Elite is also a Spanish drama, that follows the story of three working-class teens that enroll in an exclusive private school in Spain, the clash between them and the wealthy students leads to an eventful night, where one of their own is murdered…talk about DRAMA!

Time to Binge :

Hopefully, these series will keep you busy for the next couple of days! Now that I’ve watched them all, I gotta find myself some more to keep myself entertained! Drop some binge-worthy options in the comment section down below & I’ll let ya’ll know what I think of your suggestions!🎥🎞

Date Night @ Casa Lizano Pumpkin Painting :

Date Night @ Casa Lizano Pumpkin Painting :

Last night Alex & I gave up our Pumpkin carving kit, and we decided to turn things up a notch with our painting skills. Instead of doing the usual and carve a pumpkin, we really wanted to do something completely different and not as messy. Carving pumpkins can become a very messy date-night, and I wasn’t looking forward to cleaning up all of those guts! Which is why I came up with the idea of turning it into a painting sesh; and honestly it was the BEST idea EVER!

At first Alex was complaining that he isn’t a good painter, but I mean, its not like it was a competition 😂 and he actually did a very good job! I just wanted this to be something fun & relaxing, so we opened up two Red Stripes 🍻, baked a pizza 🍕& got our painting on. In all honesty it was so relaxing, I don’t know if it was the fact that we had Sam Cooke playing in the background or if it was all the painting that was going on, I just felt like we took it easy & enjoyed ourselves fully. I’ve heard that painting can be therapeutic, because it allows the mind to focus on the images at hand and nothing else. The focus on one central topic relieves stress on the mind, and in turn relaxes the body. So this date-night was perfect after a long work-week (for me at least, because poor Alex had to clock-in today).

It’s always nice spending time together, but also finding unique things to-do from the comfort of our home, plus a super inexpensive date-night! You honestly don’t need much; except a few painting brushes, two pumpkins, a couple of acrylic paint kits & some Sam Cooke playing in the background! Oh & of course you’ll also need some cute ideas/designs 💡 for your pumpkins, Alex & I looked up on Pinterest “Pumpkin Painting Ideas” & there was more than a million ideas/designs to choose from!

Alex’s Pumpkin : The Nightmare Before Christmas Jack Skellington & Yesi’s Pumpkin : Monsters Inc. Mike Wazowski

Casa Lizano is officially ready for Halloween 👻 with our cute pumpkins 🎃 that are giving us all the Disney vibes! We hope you all can enjoy some cute/fun pumpkin decorating during this spooky season & don’t forget to give “pumpkin painting” a try; ya’ll will thank us later! -Enjoy

Sunday Brunch @ Casa Lizano :

Sunday Brunch @ Casa Lizano :

Peep 👀 my PJ’s & Slippers 💛👌🏻

I mean, who doesn’t love a good ol’ Sunday Brunch? I sure do! Alex & I love going to Bonefish every once in a while for Sunday Brunch, but recently we’ve been brunching from the comfort of our home, because who doesn’t love a lazy Sunday? Especially when you get to enjoy it in the comfort of your favorite PJ’s & Slippers! Alex normally works 11-days straight & then has a 3-day weekend, so we always try to make the best of it whenever he’s got the whole weekend off. And what better way than to celebrate his Sunday off than with brunch?

I’m normally an early bird, no matter what day of the week it is. So while Alex takes a break from his early morning routine for work, I prepare some yummy breakfast & every little thing that we will be needing for Sunday Brunch; Mimosas DUH!💁🏼‍♀️🥂 So, I thought it’d be nice to share a few of my favorite recipes for your next Sunday Brunch, I hope ya’ll can enjoy!

Western Omelette or Scrambled Eggs :

Alex & I love either of the two, especially when they are packed with yummy ingredients; which is why we always stick to the Western one. Plus it’s super easy to make, and omelettes/scrambled eggs in general are a great choice for a low carb breakfast, because they pack you full of protein and keep you full for quite a while easily.

Ingredients :

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 3 large eggs (in our case 4-5 large eggs, depending how hungry we are)
  • 1/2 cup onion finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup green bell pepper/red bell pepper finely diced
  • 1/4 cooked ham chopped
  • 1/4 cup sharp cheddar cheese
  • Salt/pepper to liking

How it’s made :

  1. In a medium bowl beat the eggs well & set aside.
  2. I’m an 8-inch skillet 🍳, melt 1 tbsp of butter, then add in the onion & sauté until tender.
  3. Add in bell peppers and fry until the onions are softened to your liking and the bell peppers are tender crisp.
  4. Add the ham and cook for one more minute while stirring.
  5. Pour the eggs mixture over top of fried ham/vegetable mixture.
  6. Turn down the stove heat to low and cover with a lid for about 4-5 minutes.
  7. Once the eggs are solid and cooked almost through, flip the entire circle and cook for one more minute. But if you’d prefer to eat some yummy scrambled eggs, just scramble them up while adding some cheese & skip the following two steps down below!
  8. Place the cheese on one side of the omelette and fold over the omelette into a half circle shape.
  9. Let the cheese melt inside and then serve.

Homemade Pancakes :

I’m obsessed with pancakes, so whenever I get the chance to munch on them…I definitely do just that!😜 Check out these easy to make homemade pancakes 🥞 from scratch! (Plus, besides adding some sweet syrup; you can also top them off with some freshly cut strawberries & whipped cream!)

Ingredients :

  • 1 1/2 cups of all purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 egg (beaten)
  • 1 1/2 cup of milk

How it’s made :

  1. Mix in all the dry ingredients together in a large bowl. (Flour, baking powder, sugar, salt)
  2. Whisk egg in a small bowl and add to the above flour mixture along with the milk.
  3. Stir together, until well blended and pour onto hot greased griddle.
  4. Wait until pancakes are bubbling and cooked around the edges and flip.
  5. Garnish with freshly cut strawberries 🍓 & some yummy whipped cream.

Sides :

I normally always like to have a couple of sides to pair with the Omelette/Scrambled Eggs 🍳& Pancakes 🥞 ; so I always tend to make some wheat or classic toast with butter or jelly. And of course we can’t forget the BACON 🥓; bacon is completely necessary for a Sunday Brunch @ Casa Lizano!

Mimosas :

Oh, and we can’t forget the Mimosas either🥂, the most important part of it all 😆! Here’s what I consider the perfect mix for a Mimosa :

Ingredients :

  • 1/4 cup pulp-free orange juice
  • 1/4 cup + a splash 😆 sparkling white wine (my personal recommendation would be Prosecco)

How it’s made :

  1. Pour 1/4 cup of orange juice into a champagne flute (this should fill nearly half of the glass).
  2. Pour 1/4 cup of Prosecco into the flute; and of course top it off with some extra splash..you can just eyeball it lol! (I’ve found that, that extra splash is exactly what the drink needs to go from good to GREAT! 🥂
  3. If you’re like me, you can just garnish it with some of the extra freshly cut strawberries 🍓!

Time to enjoy :

Now that I’ve told you a few of my fave things to make for Sunday Brunch, I hope ya’ll can enjoy these easy-to-make recipes & let me know how ya’ll liked them!😘

XOXO, Yesi 🥂

Home Chef :

Home Chef :

As you may all know, I’m totally obsessed with cooking & trying out new recipes that will put me out of my comfort zone. I personally love to eat and it’s nice when you get to be the one behind the magic of prepping a meal. For a while now, many of my insta followers have been asking me to share a few of my recipes + share vlogs on how I prepare my meals. At first I was a bit skeptical, because in all honestly I’m kinda video/camera shy lol! But when Home Chef reached out to me, I thought “hey, maybe I can give this a try & film myself doing it” and I basically got myself out of that zone of being scared of the “what-if’s”!

It’s easy to be scared of trying something new, but you can’t fully judge something if you haven’t given it try. I feel like, we as humans allow ourselves to feel like trying something new isn’t always the right idea, because we’re scared of the feedback we’ll receive from it. And sometimes getting ourselves out of that comfort zone can be hard, but I’m glad that I took this opportunity to not only collaborate with such a yummy company (literally 😂 ), but also allow myself to do something different with my content & maybe open up more room for something that was actually fun to do!

Enough on my first filming experience & let’s dive in on my 1st experience with Home Chef. Home Chef is here to literally simplify your whole cooking experience & bringing people together around the dinning room table, by helping you save time while enjoying real home cooking and all of the joy that comes with it! Simplicity is their mantra! They provide you with easy-to-follow recipes & ingredients from online to your doorstep, to your kitchen table! I mean it can’t get any better than that!😍

How it works : Home Chef offers a meal kit delivery service in which you can choose from up to 26 different fresh weekly options including steak, chicken, pork, fish, and vegetarian. You’re in control as to what you want to eat, by customizing your choices by swapping, upgrading, or even doubling the recipes! Each week they send perfectly portioned ingredients with their recipes, so you never waste food. Plus, they provide fresh ingredients from their community of trusted suppliers.

Packaging: Honestly their packaging system is pretty interesting, their Home Chef boxes 📦 are completely lined with recycled, compostable, biodegradable textile fibers. And if that wasn’t enough they are completely insulated and equipped with ice packs, so all of your ingredientes stay nice & fresh, even if you’re not home!

Alex & I received our first package last week on Wednesday, and I was so excited to get my cooking on, that same day. But if you’re not up to cooking right away, most of their ingredients can stay from 3-5 days in the fridge, before they start going bad. Our package included 2-servings of the following 3 meals :

  • Cotija-Crusted Pork Chops
  • Maui Pork Tostadas
  • Hot Jalapeño Jelly Glazed Salmon

The Salmon was our first choice, because I was dying to taste that Jalapeño Jelly Glaze (I absolutely LOVE spicy 🌶 food) and to be honest it wasn’t extremely spicy, it was the perfect touch of spiciness! So Alex was definitely able to enjoy it as well. Here’s a quick look at the ingredients + step-by-step recipe that Home Chef provided for this meal :

Hot Jalapeño Jelly Glazed Salmon w/ Crispy Onion Asparagus:

Ingredients : (2 servings)

  • Asparagus 12oz.
  • Crispy Fried Onions 1oz.
  • Hot Jalapeño Jelly 2oz.
  • Pecans 0 1/2oz.
  • Salmon Fillets 12oz.
  • Seasoned Salt Blend 0 1/2tsp.
  • Olive Oil 2tsp.
  • Salt pinch
  • Pepper pinch

Recipe :

  1. Start the Salmon : pat salmon dry, and season flesh side with a pinch of salt & pepper. Place a medium non-stick pan over medium heat and add 2tsp. of olive oil. Add salmon, skin-side up, to hot pan and sear throughly until golden brown and salmon reaches a minimum internal temperature of 145 degrees, 4-6 minutes per side. While salmon sears, cook asparagus.
  2. Cook the Asparagus : trim woody ends off asparagus. Place a large non-stick pan over medium heat and add 2tsp. of olive oil. Add asparagus and seasoned salt to hot pan. Stir occasionally until lightly charred and tender, but still crisp, 8-10 minutes. Remove from burner and stir in pecans and crispy onions.
  3. Finish the Salmon : remove pan with salmon from burner & top with jalapeño jelly. Gently flip salmon until coated with jelly. Jelly will loosen up as it heats.
  4. Finish the Dish : plate dish as pictured on front of card & Bon appétit!

Honestly, it was the simplest meal ever & it was so full of flavor! Alex & I really enjoyed prepping this meal together (even though Alex was mostly behind the camera making sure we covered the whole prepping process)! Home Chef definitely goes above and beyond to provide everything that you might need for your next meal + the quality of their ingredients speak for themselves when you take that first bite. Now that a week has passed by & we’ve tried the other 2 meals that arrived in our 1st package, I can fully say that Home Chef is definitely worth a try. If you’re the type of person that doesn’t know what to buy or how to prep a full meal, Home Chef might just be able to help you out with that! Check them out for yourselves & let me know what you think!😊

Here’s a quick video that my Hubby recorded of me cooking this delicious recipe, I hope you guys enjoy it, just as much as I did!

XOXO, Yesi 🥂
