Netflix and Chill Quarantine Style :

Netflix and Chill Quarantine Style :

It’s been 6 whole days for me, 6 WHOLE DAYS of #socialdistancing ! I’ve been working on my blog every chance that I get, but I can’t lie, I’ve also been doing a lot of binge watching….something I’m very proud of 💁🏼‍♀️lol! Since I have basically become a pro at binge watching; and everyone (including my parents) are asking me what’s a must-watch on Netflix, I thought to myself, let me just make ya’ll a list! So build that fort, open a bottle of wine & make some buttery popcorn, because you just might spend the rest of your quarantine “Netflix & Chillin Quarantine Style”!

The Pharmacist :

This series in particular wasn’t something that I originally wanted to watch, but of course Alex (being in the industry) begged me if we could watch it together! It starts off as a murder mystery documentary, about the shooting of a young man attempting to buy crack cocaine, but later turns out to wrap the viewer into the real mystery around the murder of this young man, a young man who’s father was a pharmacist in New Orleans that managed to blow the opioid crisis, crippling his community wide open. Needless to say it was very eyeopening to the drug issues that we have within our own country right now.

Cheer :

Honestly, the main reason why I wanted to watch this series, was because I always wanted to be a cheerleader when I was younger, but obviously that never happened. And after watching Cheer, my respect for these athletes has grown even more, it follows the insanity behind competitive cheerleading, and it reveals just how grueling and extreme the sport of cheerleading can be.

Locke & Key :

I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS SHOW! I started watching it because it was recommended to me by a friend and I instantly got hooked. It’s an adaption of Joe Hill’s “Locke & Key” comic books and follows the story of a family that moves into their late father family home, which has hidden magical keys all around the premises. Since it can be a little tough to keep track of all the keys, where you first saw them, and what they do over the course of the first season’s ten episodes, it allows us to guide the way with a chronological look at the dozen keys we’ve seen so far. Hopefully, the second season can air soon, because I wanna know more about these magical keys!

When They See Us :

This is a four-part miniseries that reenacts the excruciating case of the Central Park Five, a group of black and latino teens from Harlem, who were wrongly convicted of the rape and attempted murder of a white woman in 1989. It’s main story is of the racial profiling, injustice and media misinformation that led to a 25-year timespan, from arrest to vindication. I promise you that you’ll be hooked on the first episode feeling mad, disappointed and sad all at once.

Love is Blind :

If you’re into the Bachelor or Bachelorette, than the chances of you actually liking this series are pretty high. The producers basically take some single girls and single boys, stick them in these “pods” and expect them to fall in love within a matter of days without ever seeing one another, until they commit to an engagement. Pure chaos! I KNOW! These hopeful romantics are ready to couple up without ever seeing each other, and even though several of them say ‘I love you’ after three days, unsurprisingly many of the relationships don’t last long in the outside world! But I won’t ruin the ending for ya’ll, you’ll just have to watch it for yourselves!

Ozark :

Starring both Jason Bateman and Laura Linnery, it follow the story of a Chicago financial advisor who has to move his family to the Ozarks of Missouri, where he later starts to work for a drug boss. Each episode will leave you wanting more, which is why Alex & I are counting down the days until Season 3!

Stranger Things :

Set in the 1980s, “Stranger Things” is a sci-fi series that begins with the sudden and mysterious disappearance of Will Byers, with the help of a new friend with supernatural powers, a group of kids tried to track down Will and soon discover that their hometown Hawkins, is not as simple nor as boring as it seems!

The Irishman :

“The Irishman” is an American crime epic, that tells the story of Frank Sheeran, a truck driver who gets involved with a powerful criminal family and soon becomes one of the mobs top hitmen, the film itself spans many decades as an older Frank recalls his mob-related experiences. Filled with drama, suspense and numerous emotions; you see how everything at the end piles up, leaving Frank with no one to turn to during his last living days. It’s a 3-hour long movie, so I would definitely recommend to watch it earlier in the day!

Money Heist :

Money Heist is a Spanish drama also known by the name “La Casa de Papel” , where a group of outlaws plan to pull off the biggest heist in recorded history. By printing billions of euros in the Royal Mint of Spain. It’s a twist of emotions throughout the whole 3-seasons, but definitely worth the watch! (My parents are currently binging it & they’re OBSESSED!)

Elite :

Elite is also a Spanish drama, that follows the story of three working-class teens that enroll in an exclusive private school in Spain, the clash between them and the wealthy students leads to an eventful night, where one of their own is murdered…talk about DRAMA!

Time to Binge :

Hopefully, these series will keep you busy for the next couple of days! Now that I’ve watched them all, I gotta find myself some more to keep myself entertained! Drop some binge-worthy options in the comment section down below & I’ll let ya’ll know what I think of your suggestions!🎥🎞

My Top-10 Accessories Must-Have :

My Top-10 Accessories Must-Have :

Confessions of a Jeweler 💁🏼‍♀️ : I wish I could put all of my jewelry tips & must-have under 1 blog post, but we would be here all day, so my top-10’s will do for now!

1. Stackable Bracelets :

I personally love being able to wear multiple bracelets all at once, because arm candy is definitely a must for me. I actually have a few thin gold bracelets that I normally never take off and I’ve also got a few others that I interchange every once in a while depending on my #OOTD or #OOTN .

Details Left-to-right : 14KT Rose Gold Italian Figa Bracelet (this was actually my baby anklet, and now I’ve converted it into a bracelet, for obvious reasons!) , 14KT Yellow Gold XOXO Bracelet (this bracelet actually holds sentimental value for me, it used to be my grandmothers!) , and lastly my 14KT Yellow Gold Evil-Eye Bracelet (I never take this bracelet off, because NO BAD JUJU allowed in my aura!)

2. Diamond Studs :

A pair of diamond studs are surely every woman’s dream, that’s why they call them a girl’s best friend! They have been a staple in the fashion industry for as early as the 16th century and have remained a beloved piece of jewelry for all women of all ages!

Details : Classic 14KT White Gold 2CTW Round Diamond Studs!
Details : 14KT White Gold w/ 0.50CTW in Diamonds Heart-Shaped Studs!
Fun Fact : Diamond studs doesn’t necessarily mean that they have to be a solid stone, they can also be cute clusters in different shapes!

3. Stackable Rings :

Good news, if you’ve got rings, guess what! YOU ARE IN LUCK! Any ring can be a stackable ring, if you just try hard enough. Seriously! There are so many different ways you can wear stackable rings, but the most important thing to remember is that there is no right or wrong way to achieve this look. If you love how you’re combining your rings and how it looks, that’s all that matters!

4. Layering Necklaces :

Necklaces can be fun, and the more you have ON these days, the better! I personally like to mix-and-match different links & thicknesses of necklaces all together. I have a few that I wear on a regular basis, and are totally trending right now!

5. Signet Ring :

I CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT MY SIGNET RING! I’ve had my signet ring ever since I was a little girl, and it’s become part of my day-to-day accessory. Plus it can also be worn as a stackable, but I normally always wear it on my pinky!

Details : 14KT Yellow Gold Signet Ring!

6. Tennis Bracelets :

The diamond tennis bracelet has actually been around for quite a long time, and most people assume that it has something to do with the sport, but it actually doesn’t. In my opinion it should actually be called the eternity bracelet, because it’s an endless circle of diamonds on your wrist. It can be worn with pretty much any outfit, which is why I normally never take mine off!

Details : 18KT White Gold w/ 3.85CTW in Diamonds Tennis Bracelet!

7. Watch :

I’ve always felt like watches are a definite must-have, it doesn’t matter what brand or style, but you should always have a watch on! I have a few that I interchange depending on my #OOTD or #OOTN .

8. Diamond Huggies :

Just like diamonds studs, Huggies are on the same level of must-have. I’ve been wearing Huggies for as long as I could remember, and the great thing about them is how safe they are to wear. You basically don’t even realize that you’re wearing earrings, because the clasp mechanism is that great! The steam goes into the earring and clips on the back side, so they don’t even bother your ear!

Details : 14KT Yellow Gold w/ Diamonds Extra Small Huggies!

9. Large Hoops :

If you guys know me well, ya’ll know that I absolutely LOVE Jenny from the Block! So it’s only fair, for me to say that you definitely have to have a pair of LARGE GOLD HOOPS! Trust me, you’ll thank me later!

Details : 14KT Yellow Gold Thin 1.00MM Extra Large Endless-Hoops!

10. Engagement Ring Alternative :

Last but not least, if you’re married or engaged this is a HUGE must-have! Engagement rings can be very pricey, plus they will always hold a precious sentimental value, so you’ll never ever want to loose it. Which is why I always recommend for every Mrs. to have an engagement ring alternative! You can have a simple white gold band or even an eternity band, that you can wear whenever you don’t feel like its the right occasion to be wearing your showstopper ring! [For example : while traveling!]

Details : 14KT White Gold w/ 0.75CTW in Diamonds Wedding Band (I will forever hold this wedding band close to my heart because it used to be my grandmothers + it’s what I normally wear whenever I don’t wanna wear my engagement ring)!

Date Night @ Casa Lizano Pumpkin Painting :

Date Night @ Casa Lizano Pumpkin Painting :

Last night Alex & I gave up our Pumpkin carving kit, and we decided to turn things up a notch with our painting skills. Instead of doing the usual and carve a pumpkin, we really wanted to do something completely different and not as messy. Carving pumpkins can become a very messy date-night, and I wasn’t looking forward to cleaning up all of those guts! Which is why I came up with the idea of turning it into a painting sesh; and honestly it was the BEST idea EVER!

At first Alex was complaining that he isn’t a good painter, but I mean, its not like it was a competition 😂 and he actually did a very good job! I just wanted this to be something fun & relaxing, so we opened up two Red Stripes 🍻, baked a pizza 🍕& got our painting on. In all honesty it was so relaxing, I don’t know if it was the fact that we had Sam Cooke playing in the background or if it was all the painting that was going on, I just felt like we took it easy & enjoyed ourselves fully. I’ve heard that painting can be therapeutic, because it allows the mind to focus on the images at hand and nothing else. The focus on one central topic relieves stress on the mind, and in turn relaxes the body. So this date-night was perfect after a long work-week (for me at least, because poor Alex had to clock-in today).

It’s always nice spending time together, but also finding unique things to-do from the comfort of our home, plus a super inexpensive date-night! You honestly don’t need much; except a few painting brushes, two pumpkins, a couple of acrylic paint kits & some Sam Cooke playing in the background! Oh & of course you’ll also need some cute ideas/designs 💡 for your pumpkins, Alex & I looked up on Pinterest “Pumpkin Painting Ideas” & there was more than a million ideas/designs to choose from!

Alex’s Pumpkin : The Nightmare Before Christmas Jack Skellington & Yesi’s Pumpkin : Monsters Inc. Mike Wazowski

Casa Lizano is officially ready for Halloween 👻 with our cute pumpkins 🎃 that are giving us all the Disney vibes! We hope you all can enjoy some cute/fun pumpkin decorating during this spooky season & don’t forget to give “pumpkin painting” a try; ya’ll will thank us later! -Enjoy

Sunday Brunch @ Casa Lizano :

Sunday Brunch @ Casa Lizano :

Peep 👀 my PJ’s & Slippers 💛👌🏻

I mean, who doesn’t love a good ol’ Sunday Brunch? I sure do! Alex & I love going to Bonefish every once in a while for Sunday Brunch, but recently we’ve been brunching from the comfort of our home, because who doesn’t love a lazy Sunday? Especially when you get to enjoy it in the comfort of your favorite PJ’s & Slippers! Alex normally works 11-days straight & then has a 3-day weekend, so we always try to make the best of it whenever he’s got the whole weekend off. And what better way than to celebrate his Sunday off than with brunch?

I’m normally an early bird, no matter what day of the week it is. So while Alex takes a break from his early morning routine for work, I prepare some yummy breakfast & every little thing that we will be needing for Sunday Brunch; Mimosas DUH!💁🏼‍♀️🥂 So, I thought it’d be nice to share a few of my favorite recipes for your next Sunday Brunch, I hope ya’ll can enjoy!

Western Omelette or Scrambled Eggs :

Alex & I love either of the two, especially when they are packed with yummy ingredients; which is why we always stick to the Western one. Plus it’s super easy to make, and omelettes/scrambled eggs in general are a great choice for a low carb breakfast, because they pack you full of protein and keep you full for quite a while easily.

Ingredients :

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 3 large eggs (in our case 4-5 large eggs, depending how hungry we are)
  • 1/2 cup onion finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup green bell pepper/red bell pepper finely diced
  • 1/4 cooked ham chopped
  • 1/4 cup sharp cheddar cheese
  • Salt/pepper to liking

How it’s made :

  1. In a medium bowl beat the eggs well & set aside.
  2. I’m an 8-inch skillet 🍳, melt 1 tbsp of butter, then add in the onion & sauté until tender.
  3. Add in bell peppers and fry until the onions are softened to your liking and the bell peppers are tender crisp.
  4. Add the ham and cook for one more minute while stirring.
  5. Pour the eggs mixture over top of fried ham/vegetable mixture.
  6. Turn down the stove heat to low and cover with a lid for about 4-5 minutes.
  7. Once the eggs are solid and cooked almost through, flip the entire circle and cook for one more minute. But if you’d prefer to eat some yummy scrambled eggs, just scramble them up while adding some cheese & skip the following two steps down below!
  8. Place the cheese on one side of the omelette and fold over the omelette into a half circle shape.
  9. Let the cheese melt inside and then serve.

Homemade Pancakes :

I’m obsessed with pancakes, so whenever I get the chance to munch on them…I definitely do just that!😜 Check out these easy to make homemade pancakes 🥞 from scratch! (Plus, besides adding some sweet syrup; you can also top them off with some freshly cut strawberries & whipped cream!)

Ingredients :

  • 1 1/2 cups of all purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 egg (beaten)
  • 1 1/2 cup of milk

How it’s made :

  1. Mix in all the dry ingredients together in a large bowl. (Flour, baking powder, sugar, salt)
  2. Whisk egg in a small bowl and add to the above flour mixture along with the milk.
  3. Stir together, until well blended and pour onto hot greased griddle.
  4. Wait until pancakes are bubbling and cooked around the edges and flip.
  5. Garnish with freshly cut strawberries 🍓 & some yummy whipped cream.

Sides :

I normally always like to have a couple of sides to pair with the Omelette/Scrambled Eggs 🍳& Pancakes 🥞 ; so I always tend to make some wheat or classic toast with butter or jelly. And of course we can’t forget the BACON 🥓; bacon is completely necessary for a Sunday Brunch @ Casa Lizano!

Mimosas :

Oh, and we can’t forget the Mimosas either🥂, the most important part of it all 😆! Here’s what I consider the perfect mix for a Mimosa :

Ingredients :

  • 1/4 cup pulp-free orange juice
  • 1/4 cup + a splash 😆 sparkling white wine (my personal recommendation would be Prosecco)

How it’s made :

  1. Pour 1/4 cup of orange juice into a champagne flute (this should fill nearly half of the glass).
  2. Pour 1/4 cup of Prosecco into the flute; and of course top it off with some extra splash..you can just eyeball it lol! (I’ve found that, that extra splash is exactly what the drink needs to go from good to GREAT! 🥂
  3. If you’re like me, you can just garnish it with some of the extra freshly cut strawberries 🍓!

Time to enjoy :

Now that I’ve told you a few of my fave things to make for Sunday Brunch, I hope ya’ll can enjoy these easy-to-make recipes & let me know how ya’ll liked them!😘

XOXO, Yesi 🥂

Honeymoon :

Honeymoon :

We’re still on that honeymoon state of mind, but I wish we could be reliving that entire week all over again! When it came to honeymoon 🍯 planning, Alex & I literally had to wait till last minute to actually reserve anything. We were getting married on March 30th, and I kid you not when I am telling you that 2 weeks before the wedding, was when we were finally able to reserve our honeymoon. Ever since Alex started Pharmacy School, we would always have to plan things around his schedule, especially our honeymoon, because he was waiting to see where & when he would start his residency year.

So on March 15th, 2019 at exactly 8:00AM, he finally got that phone call that we were both yearning for so long. He had gotten accepted at the #1 place that he really wanted to do his 1st year of residency & we were finally on the clear to plan our honeymoon. His graduation date was set for May 17th & he still had to study for his board exam before he started the residency program, which only left us with 1 possible week to celebrate our honeymoon. Which was perfect, because all we really wanted to do was take some time off, just for the two of us & disconnect from our normal routine.

Fast forward to one day later, and we were able to get an amazing deal on a 1-week cruise on the Symphony of the Seas by Royal Caribbean Cruise Line & we were finally able to book our honeymoon! The best part of it all, was that we were leaving the day after Alex’s graduation, so it honestly couldn’t have been planned any better! We both needed this time off, but it was extra special for Alex, because he was officially graduating from Pharmacy School, so it was double the celebration!

May 17th, 2019 : Graduation Day 🎓

I personally love cruising, because you don’t really have to worry about anything, everything is literally taken care of for your, and Royal Caribbean really knows how to treat their guests on-board. From the moment we got to the port they were fully aware that we were on our honeymoon & really gave us those extra perks. Not a day passed by, that we didn’t feel like we were both on Cloud 9! Everything about this trip was absolutely perfect; from the service, to our balcony ocean-view cabin, to the food, to the shows & honestly the list can go on. Royal Caribbean is an exceptional cruise line! They’ve got jaw-dropping performances on stage, ice, water and air with entertainment that transcends the stage, literally. Plus they’ve got so many onboard experiences, that it would be imposible for you to get bored on their ships!

Boardwalk — Symphony of the Seas

Our itinerary included the following ports : (W/ 3 at Sea Days)

  • St. Kitss
  • St. Thomas
  • Coco Cay Perfect Day

Even though, Alex & I have been to all of these 3 islands, we were both just looking forward to relaxing & trying out different excursions that we probably hadn’t done before. Plus, Coco Cay (which is a private island that is owned by Royal Caribbean) had recently gotten a total facelift 😂, so we were looking forward to checking that out as well.

St. Kitts :

Alex & I really wanted to do the Mount Liamuiga Volcano Hike at St. Kitts, but unfortunately due to the weather they had to cancel this excursion. So we decided to go ATV riding throughout the St. Kitts rainforest (which we were able to see Mount Liamuiga from afar + snap some beautiful pictures) & then ended up at the beach, sipping on tropical drinks while we sun-bathed.

ATV Riding — St. Kitts
Ocean View Balcony!😍

St. Thomas :

At St. Thomas, we sailed away on a Catamaran that took us to Christmas Cove where we snorkeled with sea turtles & stingrays. And later sipped on unlimited rum-punch🍹, while we partied our way back to our cruise ship!

Coco Cay, Perfect Day :

Honestly this day was full of tropical drinks & delicious food by the beach, while we sun-bathed at one of their adults-only beaches. Talk about a perfect 👌🏻 day at Coco Cay!

Days at sea, were just as good as the days that we were roaming the islands 🌴. We took those 3-days at sea to enjoy all the perks the ship has to offer + relax by the adults-only pool with a Piña Colada!🍍🍹Besides the fact that this was our honeymoon, this trip was one of the best, and it’s funny because I feel like I always say the same thing about every other trip, but seriously we couldn’t have selected a better way to spend our honeymoon!💛✨🥂🍯
