Disney World 2020 Edition :

Disney World 2020 Edition :

Disney on my mind all day everyday; if it were up to me I would basically live at the “Happiest Place on Earth” 🌎! I’ve been going to Disney World for as long as I could remember, mostly because my parents did everything in their power to take us to Disney at least 3-4 times a year. It’s truly such a magical place no matter what your age is! I mean, take me as an example, I’m 25 years old and I am completely obsessed with it.

At the beginning of this year (before this whole pandemic started) I had mentioned to Alex that I really wanted to go to Disney, mainly because we hadn’t visited Star Wars : Galaxy’s Edge and Pandora : The World of Avatar. But for obvious reasons that was put on hold because COVID-19. The parks were closed for about 3-months and once they announced their reopening, I myself was a little skeptical about going. Just because I wasn’t sure how Disney would handle a pandemic, I knew that they would only reopen if they fully felt like they could handle it properly, but I was still a little skeptical. Disney immediately detailed how they would be reopening their parks in phases, all in consideration of the safety of their guests + cast members. So when I saw exactly how they would be doing it, I felt a little more at ease, especially seeing some close friends & family go to the parks after reopening and sharing their own personal experiences with me. So it was just a matter of time, till we were gonna finally be able to experience it all for ourselves! Luckily, Alex went ahead and planned out this little weekend getaway for just the two of us and now I get to share our personal experience with you guys!

Where Did We Stay?

We personally love staying at Disney properties whenever we plan a Disney trip, just because the amenities offered in these resorts are a plus. We love the fact that you have complimentary transportation included from your resorts to any of the parks, plus you’ve also got transportation included to all of the other resorts within Disney World; just incase you prefer spending your day resort hopping (which incase you didn’t know, resort hopping at Disney is definitely a thing)! So we stayed at Disney’s Pop Century Resort, which btw had a major facelift, I absolutely loved how the rooms are newly remolded and the fact that they don’t have carpet anymore! I honestly hate carpets, and I felt like them adding wooden floors was definitely a nice touch. We got a standard room in the 90’s section, and the size of the room was perfect for the two of us, everything was cleaned to perfection + disinfected. They also recently added the SkyLiner to the Pop Century, which is another great way of complimentary transportation to either Epcot Center or Hollywood Studios.

Which Parks Did We Visit?

  • Disney’s Hollywood Studios
  • Magic Kingdom
  • Animal Kingdom

Disney’s Hollywood Studios has recently added a few attractions that we both hadn’t visited and we were really looking forward to finally being able to enjoy Star Wars : Galaxy’s Edge. Guys when I tell you that we are both obsessed with Galaxy’s Edge, BELIEVE ME…..WE ARE! Disney always outdoes themselves when it comes to experiences, they try to immerse you into every little detail and they definitely went above and beyond to do just that with Galaxy’s Edge! Specifically with the Rise of the Resistance; it honestly has been the BEST ride I have ever been on! Other than Galaxy’s Edge, Disney also added Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway and it’s honestly such a cute ride, especially for those who love Mickey & the gang!

Magic Kingdom is a total must, no matter how many times you’ve already been to it, it will never get old! I personally love the feeling I get once I walk down Main-Street & I see Cinderella’s Castle! It’s like I’m a 10 year old all over again, BEST FEELING EVER 🥰! Overall Magic Kingdom hasn’t changed much since the last time we went, although they are currently working on “Tron Lightcycle Power Run” , which gives us another reason to return as soon as it opens!

Animal Kingdom has also added a few new attractions, since the last time we had visited, so we were extremely excited to finally be able to return & enjoy Pandora – The World of Avatar! Avatar Flight of Passage is Pandora’s signature attraction at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. This flight stimulator attraction creates the exhilaration feeling of flying from the back of one of the Banshee’s, over and through the breathtaking landscapes of Pandora. It’s often compared to Epcot’s Soarin “Around the World” as it simulates the sensation of flight and uses a giant screen coupled with scents and water effect. But Flight of Passage is literally Soarin on steroids, it’s that much better than Soarin!

Where Did We Eat?

I don’t know about you guys, but I personally LOVE to eat! Especially those Mickey head Pretzels that you can find in every Disney park! Disney is well known for their yummy bites, and the diversity of food they have throughout all of the parks. During our recent trip we mostly ate in their counter service dinning options, we would grab something quick and go about our day, and I must say they recently added a new way of ordering your meals/snacks that made the whole ordering process much easier. Whether you’re waiting to hop on an attraction, strolling through a land or find yourself directly in front of a restaurant you’d like to try, they made it easier for you to order, pay for and pick up fresh food throughout all of Walt Disney World Resorts. All you need is your phone and the My Disney Experience app. Whenever Alex & I craved something to eat, we would just order it on the app and choose a timeframe for pick-up. Which I personally loved, just because you’re not forced to be stationed at a line in order to get your food, you can just enjoy yourselves while they get your food ready.

Now we did splurge a little on two occasions during our recent trip, we were able to get reservations for both The Boathouse & the Be Our Guest restaurants, both of these restaurants are a total must if you go to Disney World. Their food and service is exceptional, on both occasions I ordered the Filet Mignon and I wasn’t disappointed. I personally loved the Be Our Guest, just because I am totally obsessed with the movie “Beauty and the Beast” , so it’s obvious that I would love this particular restaurant especially for it’s experience. That’s something I feel is extremely important, especially whenever you’re dinning at one of the Disney themed restaurants; you are paying for an experience. That doesn’t take away from the fact that the food should also be amazing, but also remember that it’s a combination of both things; experience and food. Overall the experience and the food at the “Be Our Guest” restaurant is well worth it in my opinion!

Final Verdict :

Overall, Alex & I really enjoyed ourselves during our recent Disney trip. We felt like Disney’s main concern, was definitely the guests safety and wellbeing. They went above and beyond to incorporate safety measures all throughout all of their parks, but definitely with a magical touch. If you have been dying to go, but haven’t been completely sure as to “how safe it actually is”, I hope this post can answer all of those pending questions & concerns, and also help you figure out if Disney is the place for you and your family during a pandemic. I personally cannot wait for our next trip back, I’m low-key already planning it lol 😂! But for now I’ll just enjoy all of our pics & videos, until I can be back at the Happiest Place on Earth!

XOXO, Yesi 🥂
