Netflix and Chill Quarantine Style :

Netflix and Chill Quarantine Style :

It’s been 6 whole days for me, 6 WHOLE DAYS of #socialdistancing ! I’ve been working on my blog every chance that I get, but I can’t lie, I’ve also been doing a lot of binge watching….something I’m very proud of 💁🏼‍♀️lol! Since I have basically become a pro at binge watching; and everyone (including my parents) are asking me what’s a must-watch on Netflix, I thought to myself, let me just make ya’ll a list! So build that fort, open a bottle of wine & make some buttery popcorn, because you just might spend the rest of your quarantine “Netflix & Chillin Quarantine Style”!

The Pharmacist :

This series in particular wasn’t something that I originally wanted to watch, but of course Alex (being in the industry) begged me if we could watch it together! It starts off as a murder mystery documentary, about the shooting of a young man attempting to buy crack cocaine, but later turns out to wrap the viewer into the real mystery around the murder of this young man, a young man who’s father was a pharmacist in New Orleans that managed to blow the opioid crisis, crippling his community wide open. Needless to say it was very eyeopening to the drug issues that we have within our own country right now.

Cheer :

Honestly, the main reason why I wanted to watch this series, was because I always wanted to be a cheerleader when I was younger, but obviously that never happened. And after watching Cheer, my respect for these athletes has grown even more, it follows the insanity behind competitive cheerleading, and it reveals just how grueling and extreme the sport of cheerleading can be.

Locke & Key :

I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS SHOW! I started watching it because it was recommended to me by a friend and I instantly got hooked. It’s an adaption of Joe Hill’s “Locke & Key” comic books and follows the story of a family that moves into their late father family home, which has hidden magical keys all around the premises. Since it can be a little tough to keep track of all the keys, where you first saw them, and what they do over the course of the first season’s ten episodes, it allows us to guide the way with a chronological look at the dozen keys we’ve seen so far. Hopefully, the second season can air soon, because I wanna know more about these magical keys!

When They See Us :

This is a four-part miniseries that reenacts the excruciating case of the Central Park Five, a group of black and latino teens from Harlem, who were wrongly convicted of the rape and attempted murder of a white woman in 1989. It’s main story is of the racial profiling, injustice and media misinformation that led to a 25-year timespan, from arrest to vindication. I promise you that you’ll be hooked on the first episode feeling mad, disappointed and sad all at once.

Love is Blind :

If you’re into the Bachelor or Bachelorette, than the chances of you actually liking this series are pretty high. The producers basically take some single girls and single boys, stick them in these “pods” and expect them to fall in love within a matter of days without ever seeing one another, until they commit to an engagement. Pure chaos! I KNOW! These hopeful romantics are ready to couple up without ever seeing each other, and even though several of them say ‘I love you’ after three days, unsurprisingly many of the relationships don’t last long in the outside world! But I won’t ruin the ending for ya’ll, you’ll just have to watch it for yourselves!

Ozark :

Starring both Jason Bateman and Laura Linnery, it follow the story of a Chicago financial advisor who has to move his family to the Ozarks of Missouri, where he later starts to work for a drug boss. Each episode will leave you wanting more, which is why Alex & I are counting down the days until Season 3!

Stranger Things :

Set in the 1980s, “Stranger Things” is a sci-fi series that begins with the sudden and mysterious disappearance of Will Byers, with the help of a new friend with supernatural powers, a group of kids tried to track down Will and soon discover that their hometown Hawkins, is not as simple nor as boring as it seems!

The Irishman :

“The Irishman” is an American crime epic, that tells the story of Frank Sheeran, a truck driver who gets involved with a powerful criminal family and soon becomes one of the mobs top hitmen, the film itself spans many decades as an older Frank recalls his mob-related experiences. Filled with drama, suspense and numerous emotions; you see how everything at the end piles up, leaving Frank with no one to turn to during his last living days. It’s a 3-hour long movie, so I would definitely recommend to watch it earlier in the day!

Money Heist :

Money Heist is a Spanish drama also known by the name “La Casa de Papel” , where a group of outlaws plan to pull off the biggest heist in recorded history. By printing billions of euros in the Royal Mint of Spain. It’s a twist of emotions throughout the whole 3-seasons, but definitely worth the watch! (My parents are currently binging it & they’re OBSESSED!)

Elite :

Elite is also a Spanish drama, that follows the story of three working-class teens that enroll in an exclusive private school in Spain, the clash between them and the wealthy students leads to an eventful night, where one of their own is murdered…talk about DRAMA!

Time to Binge :

Hopefully, these series will keep you busy for the next couple of days! Now that I’ve watched them all, I gotta find myself some more to keep myself entertained! Drop some binge-worthy options in the comment section down below & I’ll let ya’ll know what I think of your suggestions!🎥🎞

XOXO, Yesi 🥂
